Do you also need to replace the "anti-squeal shim" (2 of them)? I plan to replace disk pads, forgot to buy the shims. Just wondering if it's ok to not replace them. BTW, I bought the pads from the Toyota dealer for camry, $85.I'm still running on the original pads, which lasted over 155,000KM. So it's a good reason to buy the OEM parts again.

My pads are those kind of "without shims", so I did not put in any shim. If the pads do need shims, shims should come with the pads in the box, you don't need to buy any shim. My pads manual says clearly:"you should not install any shim..."If yours has no shims in the package, then it's same kind of "without shims" pads. Good luck man!

Thx! I replaced the pads today, took me two hours. The old pads worked for 157,000KM! Since I bought the OEM parts from dealter, they're the same as the old ones, so I reused the old shims.

Yes, the old shims should be fine.
