About myself:
Got G2 licence three years ago, driving local a lot, seldom drive high way. Have good feeling on my car, no much experience on high way.
Before test:
Two weeks ago, decided to get my G license. then spent $40 for 1.5 hour driving class. My purpose is to let the teacher point out what I should pay attation for the G2 test, what I should improve when I drive highway, what does the teacher think about my driving skills. After the class, I have confidence and I know what I need to improve. Then I started booking the test. I booked today 12:15 in Morningside, then I search the rolia, find all the articles about road test in Morningside, printed out and readed one by one. Like most of the female, I don't have feelings on directions, where is east, west, north or south. So my husband spent two morning sitting beside me, and I drove to the moriningside test center, follow all the possible routes which contributed by the DXs and go over and over. My other weakness is back in and parallel parking which I totally forgot three years ago. Then I spend one morning for back in and parallel parking. Before test, I'm perfect for back in but still poor for parallel parking. Last night, I found out my husband yellow G2 test paper, go through them, knowing what the examiner will test for. And this morning continue practiced for parallel parking but still doesn't working well. I feel very tired and decided forgive this one, I was preparing losing score on this. Then back to home, rested for half hour, then drove to the test center.
Testing:
It's raining today. I don't know it is good or not. Maybe I can get benefit on speed, who knows. I arrived there at 11:15, too early. Paid fee, waited inside the car like all others. When I saw my examiner, I started the car and opened the door for him. The examiner, white, male, young, tall, thin, beard, doesn't like to talk, serious. Too serious that I don't know how to "pai ma pi". I handed him the tissue and asked if he needed some, the answer is very short:"No". Then the test start. From the test center, turn left to the Grand Marshall, speed 50, traffic light turn right to the Milner, change two lanes, traffic light turn left to the morningside Rd., In morningside Rd, I have to change two lanes to the right, the speed should be 60km, in here I made a big mistake, I only focused on change two lanes, I used to speed up when I change lane, I forgot I am in the test, then I realize the officer beside me a little un-normal, then I found out I overspeed, it is already more than 70. I said "I am sorry" immidiately and slow down, the officer back to comfortable and said: "watch the speed", I just wondering if I will get fail, but his attitute is very gentle and I have a feeling it is fine. The I drive in the Millitary. There's a yield there, be careful. In millitary, did roadside stop. Drive straight, on first intersection, turn right, do three point turn, the road is uphill. Then drive back. No parallel parking. On the way back, go 401 West. When entering the highway, no much cars, speed up, merge in at speed 92km or so. I was then regret I should merge in at 100km. He didn't ask me to change lane, go straight out from Neilson, then back 401 East. There's merge road on the right of the entrance. When I speed up, there also a car in my right. I can't speed up, I have to let it in, that car is slow, so I followed him, I think it is the right time to merge in the highway, but I hope he can do it first, but it still slowly drive in front of me. My conclusion:
1.Remain calm after you made big mistake, and admit it immidiately, let the officer know you realized that. You can still get pass if you do all other things good. I made very little mistake except that overspeed. But I totally lost 31 point, I thought most of them are for overspeed.
2.When merge into highway, don't focus too much on speed, my friend told me that I have to drive over 100km then merge in, or I will get fail. But my point is put SAFE first. SAFE is No. 1!
